Coach Farley on DePotter: "Evan is one of three pitchers we
think could be very effective in a late relief/closer type role. He
has above average stuff, and he is very effective when he throws
low strikes. His fastball and knuckle curve are both plus pitches.
He is one of the seniors we are counting on." 2008: One of the
Bulldogs' top relievers, appearing in 15 games out of the pen...his
3.91 ERA was the lowest mark among the team's regulars...had a
string of 11.1 innings over seven appearances without allowing an
earned run...struck out eight during that span...scattered two hits
and struck out three in 3.0 innings at UIC on April 5...set down
the side on strikes in an inning of work against Cincinnati on
April 16...earned his only save of the year at Indianapolis (April
29), striking out three in 1.1 innings...2007: Came out of the
bullpen in 16 of his 17 games pitched...finished fourth among
Butler pitchers with at least 30 innings pitched with a 4.50
ERA...allowed 2.0 earned runs while striking out eight in a
five-inning start against IU-Southeast (3/6)...yielded one earned

Named honorable mention on the All-Metro North team as a pitcher at
