Great Lakes collegiate league, leading his team to the
championship. He has an excellent fastball, and he has worked hard
to improve the command of his off-speed stuff. He will be one of
our top starters, and he has the mentality to be a very effective
closer. Ryan is a strong leader for our team." 2008: Ranked second
on the team with 53.2 innings pitched...appeared in 14 games,
including a team-high nine as a starter...his .283 opponent batting
average was the second-lowest among Butler starters...led the
starters with a 2-1 record and a 4.50 ERA in Horizon League
games...held league foes to a team-low .249 average in nine
appearances...allowed only 42 hits in 44.0 innings of work...struck
out a season-high six batters against Youngstown State (March 22),
yielding three hits and one run in 7.0 innings...allowed just three
