Kyle Schultz
Coach Farley on Schultz: "Kyle finished last season with the top
batting average on the team. He puts the ball in play and hits to
all fields. He worked in the fall to increase his power potential.
He could see action at first or third base. He is a solid fielder
with soft hands." 2008: The squad's top hitter as a sophomore,
boasting a team-high .383 batting average and .471 on base
percentage...also tallied a .500 slugging percentage...started in
32 of his 40 games played...batted .477 with a .614 slugging
percentage and a .566 on base percentage in non-league games...had
a season-long 10-game hitting streak from April 5-20...also posted
an eight-game trek from April 23 to May 10...collected hits in 29
of his final 32 games of the season...had 11 multi-hit contests and
five multi-RBI games...went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three runs
scored and two RBI against Milwaukee (March 29)...was 3-for-4 with
two RBI and a run scored at Cleveland State (April 20)...homered
and drove in three runs at Valparaiso (April 25)...finished 4-for-5
with and RBI against Indianapolis (April 29)...2007: Started in
four of his 12 games played...drove in a run on a sacrifice fly at
Morehead State (2/25)...singled and scored a run at Dayton

Lettered three seasons at Penn High School, serving as a pitcher
and corner infielder...earned all-conference honors all three
