Butler Baseball's Ironman Challenge Complete
The Butler baseball team concluded its successful preseason Ironman Challenge, a series of fitness and team-building events to prepare for the 2010 season. The final event of the challenge was the Swedish Shuttle Run.
Jared Wagoner won the run, finishing with a level of 13.3. Jack Dillon finished second (12.8) and Jack Krause placed third (12.6).
“Our guys have worked hard these past three weeks to get ready for the start of official practices on February 1," head coach Steve Farley said. "We’ve had a good mix of weight training, conditioning and positional workouts. We’ll have 21 workouts to prepare for our season opener down in South Carolina, so we need to stay focused and keep working to get better every day.”
Butler opens the season with a four-game tournament at Wofford (Spartanburg, S.C.) beginning Friday, Feb. 26.
