Butler Baseball Ironman #5 - SPARQ Test

Butler baseball continued its offseason workout with the SPARQ test, a series of four different fitness categories: the 30-yard dash, shuttle run, medicine ball throw and the vertical jump.

Team Wagoner, led by Jared Wagoner, won the team portion of the competition. Wagoner himself was the individual champion, as he was the team's best in three of the four categories.

Wagoner won the 30-yard dash with a time of 3.71, and his measurements in the medicine ball throw (58 inches) and vertical jump (32 inches) were team bests. Wagoner also finished third in the shuttle run (4.60).

Mike Hernandez and Mike Hoscheit tied Wagoner with a 58-inch medicine ball toss. Joel Leichty and Bobby Mosser each registered a 30-inch vertical leap, while Mike Letzter (4.45) and Luke Duncan (4.56) were the top two Bulldogs in the shuttle run.

The final event of BU baseball's Ironman Challenge is the Swedish Shuttle Run. It will be held Friday, Jan. 29.
