The Butler baseball program has added Scott Jackson as voluneer assistant coach. Jackson, a former student assistant coach at Indiana, will work primarily with catchers and hitting while helping in other areas.
Jackson, a Bloomington, Ind., native, comes to Butler after working on the staff at Wabash Valley College in Illinois, where he worked with catchers, hitting and recruiting. Prior to his stint at Wabash Valley, Jackson was an assistant coach at Bloomington North High School. He played at BNHS as a catcher and infielder.
"We are excited to have Scott join our program. He comes from one of the top junior college programs in the Midwest and he's a guy with a lot of Indiana connections, having played and coached in the state," head coach Steve Farley said. "Scott will work with our catchers and hitters and provide valuable input in other areas of our program."
Jackson, a 2003 Indiana University graduate, will join a staff that has brought in a lot of new faces. BU also recently added DJ Throneburg as an assistant coach.
