Bulldogs Win First Pair Of Games In Florida

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Butler baseball team won its first two games of a week-long Florida trip on Sunday, defeating Minnesota-Duluth, 13-5, before winning a 10-9 game over Mt. Marty College in 10 innings. 

Senior Jared Wagoner (2-1) pitched 6.2 innings for the win, and sophomore Chase Byerly closed out the Bulldog victory. The Bulldogs had a couple big innings late in the game to pull away. Junior Nick Hladek and freshman Zach Sizemore each went 2-for-4 with a home run. Sophomore Andrew Eckhardt added a 3-for-4 effort, just a home run shy of hitting for a cycle.

The Bulldogs (6-4) continue their Spring Break in Florida vs. Akron Monday, March 14. Senior right-hander Dom Silvestri is schedule to start on the mound for BU.
