Butler World Series Tied After Two Games

The Butler World Series is tied 1-1 after two games. Senior Griffin Richeson is leading the way with a 5-for-7 stretch so far in the intrasquad series.
In Friday's game 1, the Bulldogs wearing blue and coached by Brian Hiscox won 10-6. Richeson went 3-for-3 with two walks and three newcomers - Jimmy Risi, Michael Fries and Mark Brown - each had multi-hit performances. For the losing gray team, Jack Dillon, Lucas Calderon and Brad Korn each had two hits and Mike Hoscheit hit a triple to right-center. Another highlight of game 1 was Matthew Graves, associate head coach of Butler men's basketball, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
In Saturday's game 2, Michael Dalton's team evened the series with a 5-3 win. Richeson continued his hot fall with a 2-for-4 outing, while Calderon, Ryan Wojciechowski and Matt Wagner each added two hits. Dilllon, Pat Guinane and Austin Miller each hit a double. Senior reliever Brad Schnitzer pitched a scoreless 9th inning for a save.
Game 1 was played with wood bats and the second game was played with aluminum bats.
