Baseball Stays Undefeated at Home
The Butler baseball team won their third-straight game with a 6-4 victory over IPFW on Saturday afternoon. Chris Maranto went 3-for-4 from the dish with two RBIs and Gunner Johnson came in to record his first win of the season on the mound for BU.

Butler Baseball Wins Second Straight Game
Butler posted a 9-3 victory against IPFW on Friday afternoon. Will Amador hit a three-run homerun over the fence in left centerfield and Ryan Wojciechowski added a two-run blast in the bottom of the seventh to lead BU to victory.

Baseball Prepares for Home Opener
The Butler baseball team will host Marian today at 4 p.m. The game has been moved to Bishop Chatard H.S. due to heavy amounts of snow still covering Bulldog Park. This weekend will feature Butler hosting IPFW for a three-game series that begins on Friday, March 7. First pitch for game one of the series is set for 3 p.m.

Bulldogs Win Home Opener over Marian
The Butler baseball team scored two runs in the fifth and two more runs in the sixth to earn a 4-3 victory over Marian in the 2014 home opener. The game was called after the top of the seventh inning due to darkness at Bishop Chatard field.

Samford Edges Butler 10-9 on Sunday
The Bulldogs scored five runs in the top of the ninth inning to tie the ballgame at 9-9, but the late rally wouldn’t result in a win as Samford recorded a run in the bottom of the inning to grab a 10-9 victory.

Purdue Holds Off Butler 3-2
The Butler baseball team went toe-to-toe with the Purdue Boilermakers on the diamond Saturday morning at Joe Lee Griffin Field. Butler scored the first and last run of the game, but it wasn’t enough as the Boilermakers edged the Bulldogs 3-2.

Baseball Falls 6-2 at Samford
The Butler baseball team took a 2-1 lead into the fifth inning, but it wasn’t enough as Samford scored five unanswered runs to pull out a 6-2 victory. Two extra base hits put Butler on the scoreboard early. Samford tied the game at 2-2 in the fifth and took control of the game with a two run sixth, followed by a two-run seventh inning.

Baseball Makes Schedule Change to Weekend Series
The Butler baseball schedule for this weekend has been modified due to a new team joining the action. Butler will still play three games at Joe Lee Griffin Field, but only two will be against Samford. Saturday's game will be played against the Purdue Boilermakers, who join the weekend slate after having their original series at Missouri State cancelled due to poor weather.

Late Rally Leads to Butler Setback
A two-out, two-run double to centerfield in the bottom of the ninth inning allowed USC Upstate to record a 7-6 come from behind victory against Butler on Sunday afternoon at Harley Park. With the loss, Butler moves to 1-4 on the year while USC Upstate moved to .500 at 4-4.

Bulldogs Fall 6-2 at Wofford
The Butler baseball team took a 6-2 loss at Wofford on Saturday afternoon, moving their overall record to 1-3 overall. The ‘Dogs returned to King Field to face Terriers after dropping a high scoring contest vs. Pittsburgh a day ago. This outcome was much different as Butler was limited to just three hits compared to 12 from the home team.

Pittsburgh Defeats Butler 15-7 in South Carolina
The Bulldogs fell to 1-2 on the year with a 15-7 loss vs. Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon at King Field. Butler led 4-2 after the first inning, but a three-run second and six-run fourth inning would lead the Panthers to their second win of the season.

The Butler baseball team will return to action this weekend with three games, in three days, against three different opponents. The action will take place in South Carolina with two games at Wofford and one at S.C. Upstate.

Baseball Splits a Pair Opening Weekend
Winter weather conditions in the Cary, N.C. area cancelled the action that Butler had planned on participating in this weekend, yet Head Coach Steve Farley and the Bulldogs were able to find an opponent in Illinois State. The two teams played at E.S. Rose Park in Nashville, Tenn. Illinois State won the first game 9-1, but the Bulldogs evened their record with a 7-6 win on Sunday.

Stout Earns Preseason All-BIG EAST Recognition
The conference office has officially announced that junior Eric Stout has been named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST team as voted on by the league’s head coaches. Stout will return to the mound in 2014 after leading the team in multiple categories during the ’13 season.

FOX Sports to Broadcast Four BIG EAST Spring Championship Games
FOX Sports, the official broadcast partner of the BIG EAST, announced on Thursday that it will broadcast four BIG EAST Championship contests in the spring in men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, softball and baseball.

Farley Announces 2014 Baseball Schedule
The Butler baseball program will join the BIG EAST conference for the 2014 season after posting a 25-27 record one year ago in the Atlantic 10. The Bulldogs return A-10 All-Rookie Team selection Mike Kseniak to the lineup in hopes of making the BIG EAST Conference Tournament which will be held in Brooklyn N.Y. from May 21-25.

Butler Head Coach Steve Farley has added four talented student-athletes to the Butler baseball program. Garrett Christman, Tyler Houston, Connor Mitchell, and Austin Jetel all signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Butler University in the fall of 2014.

Pobereyko Reflects on Midwest Collegiate League
When Bishop Noll graduates Matt and Danny Pobereyko pitched for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen in 2013, they became the first brothers to play together with the team. The duo will be back in 2014 as the team has announced that both will once again call Oil City Stadium home starting in late May.

The Butler baseball team volunteered in a community service project on Tuesday Sept. 24 when they partnered with Kevin Hardie and the White River Group to participate in a river clean-up effort near the Butler campus.
