Dan Gillin joins the Butler coaching staff as a volunteer
assistant coach for the 2008 season. Gillin concluded a four-year
playing career at Hanover (Ind.) College, where he was a team
captain and was named to the all-conference squad as a senior after
batting .308 with a team-best 32 runs scored as a starting
outfielder. "Danny was a great player at Hanover and is a very hard
worker," head coach Steve Farley said of Gillin. "He will be a
welcomed addition to our staff." Prior to his college career,
Gillin was named to the all-county team while attending Roncalli
High School in Indianapolis, where he holds the school record for
most career doubles. Gillin graduated from Hanover in the spring of
2007. He is currently pursuing his Master's Degree at Butler.
