Bob Keeney is in his seventh season as a member of Butler's
coaching staff. He joined the Bulldogs in the summer of 2001, after
spending two years as an assistant coach at South Dakota State
University. The seventh-year Butler coach works primarily with the
team's hitters and infielders, while running the squad's off-season
strength and conditioning program. He also assists with recruiting,
scouting, defensive positioning and team travel. Keeney, who was a
four-year baseball letterwinner and All-Big Ten player at the
University of Minnesota, helped lead South Dakota State to a
conference runner-up finish and a No. 6 ranking in the central
region in 2001. Prior to his stint at South Dakota State, he served
as an assistant baseball coach at Bethel College (Minn.). He has a
B.A. degree from Minnesota (1997).
