Coach Farley on Sinkiewicz: "Jeff threw some quality innings last year. His start at Louisville in front of a capacity crowd was one of the best outings of any pitcher on our staff in 2008. He competes well and knows the key for him is making big pitches in pressure situations. If he's healthy, he'll be counted on heavily this season."
2008: The team's top starting pitcher, leading all starters with
a 4.95 ERA and 63.2 innings pitched...struck out 24 batters on the
year while only yielding nine walks...boasted a 3.98 ERA in five
non-conference appearances, including three as a starter...allowed
just one run and struck out two with no walks in 4.1 innings of
relief at Tennessee Tech (March 15)...earned his lone win of the
year against Youngstown State (March 21), tossing two no-hit relief
innings...had his longest outing of the year against Wright State
(April 12), starting and allowing two earned runs while striking
out three in 8.0 innings...scattered six hits and allowed three
earned runs in a seven-inning start against Cleveland State (May
16)...started and yielded four runs on seven hits in a six-inning
appearance in the Horizon League Championship against Valparaiso
(May 20)...2007: Led the team with 18 appearances, including four
starts...tied for the team lead with two saves...worked a perfect
inning of relief at Morehead State to earn his first save
(2/24)...notched a season-high three strikeouts in 3.0 innings at
Belmont (3/3)...picked up the save against Ohio after allowing just
one run on two hits in 2.0 innings (3/11)...earned a win over
Milwaukee after working 1.2 hitless innings of relief
(5/18)...2006: Saw 12 appearances as a freshman, earning two
starts...allowed two runs in four innings in his first career start
at Western Carolina (2/19)...High School: Team captain at St.
Joseph's High School...honorable mention all-conference
pitcher...helped high school squad to a regional runner-up finish
