Bulla also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, and Butler scored a pair of unearned runs on a throwing error by St. Xavier first baseman Kevin White.

Costello continued Butler's solid mound work in the second contest, blanking the Cougars for the first three innings. He was nicked for solo runs in the fourth and seventh innings, before closing out his first complete game of the season. He had two strikeouts and no walks, while improving to 3-2 on the year.

Butler will return to Bulldog Park on Sunday, April 4, to host Bradley in a doubleheader beginning at 12 noon.
