Butler Baseball Kicks Off 100 Years Celebration With All-1990's Team
Feb. 5, 2009
Indianapolis, Ind. - In conjunction with the upcoming 100th season of Bulldog baseball, head coach Steve Farley announced the Butler All-1990's Team, which recognizes former baseball players who graduated between 1990 and 1999. The 16-member team features a two-time conference player of the year, three conference pitchers of the year and five players who were selected in Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.
"Many of the current Butler individual and team baseball records are held by players who competed in the 1990's," noted Farley. "Quite a few of these same student-athletes helped lead Butler to Midwestern Collegiate Conference Championships in 1996, 1998 and 1999, including the 1998 team advanced to the NCAA Tournament in Tulsa, Okla.
"Thanks to Butler Sports Information Department intern Ryan Neat for his help in collecting cumulative statistics on this outstanding group of players."
