Indianapolis, Ind. - The Butler baseball team's 2008 schedule will feature a professional touch this spring, as the Bulldogs will take on cross-town foe Marian at Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis.
Butler will take on the Knights on Wednesday, April 2 with game time yet to be determined.
Victory Field serves as the home of the Indianapolis Indians, the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 12,500 seat stadium has been heralded as the "Best Minor League Ballpark in America" by both Baseball America and Sports Illustrated.
Amateur baseball is nothing new to the facility, as Victory Field played host to the 2005 Horizon League Baseball Championship. Butler's last regular season contest at the field came earlier that season with an 11-4 win over Anderson. The Bulldogs were slated to host Valparaiso at the ballpark last year, but inclement weather forced the cancellation of the contest.
Butler opens the 2008 campaign at Kentucky on Feb. 29.
