Butler Breaks Ground On New Hitting Facility
Dec. 5, 2008
Indianapolis, Ind. - Work on Butler's new hitting complex began this week, as ground was broken along the left field foul line at Bulldog Park for what will become a 6,000 square foot multi-purpose facility that will feature four turfed indoor batting cages.
When completed, the 110' x 55' building will also house indoor pitching mounds, pitching machines, drill stations and a bathroom. In addition to baseball, the multi-purpose complex will also be used by the Butler softball and golf programs.
The facility could be completed as early as the start of the 2009 baseball season.
The hitting facility is the second part of a major renovation at Bulldog Park. The field received a new mound and new infield dirt and sod earlier in the fall.
