Seniors To Be Featured On Final Butler Basketball Radio Show
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Butler seniors Willie Veasley, Avery Jukes
and Nick Rodgers will be the special guests of head coach Brad
Stevens on the final 2009-10 edition of the Butler Basketball Radio
Show tonight (Thursday, April 22). The show will be broadcast
live on WXNT Fox Newstalk 1430 AM from Brothers Restaurant in Broad
Ripple, starting at 6 p.m.
Veasley, Jukes and Rodgers recently wrapped up their collegiate
careers by helping lead Butler to a school-record 33-5 season and a
trip to the NCAA Division I national championship game. The
Bulldogs became the first team in school and Horizon League history
to reach the NCAA Final Four.
Veasley and Rodgers both played four seasons at Butler, and the two
helped the Bulldogs to a school-record 118 wins over that
period. Jukes, a transfer from Alabama, played three seasons
and helped the Bulldogs to three consecutive NCAA Tournament
appearances.
Stevens, the three Butler seniors and Joe Gentry, the “Voice
of Butler Basketball,” will discuss the most successful
season in Butler basketball history. The Bulldogs won Horizon
League regular season and tournament championships, and compiled a
school-record 25-game winning streak, the longest in the nation in
2009-10. Butler was ranked in the “Top 25” for 19
consecutive weeks, finishing with a school-record No. 2 ranking in
the final ESPN/USA Today national poll.
