Ronald Nored, Michele Nash Chosen Top Butler Athletes
Seniors Ronald Nored, who etched his name in the Butler basketball record book, and Michele Nash, who helped lead Butler to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship, have been selected as Butler’s Most Outstanding Athletes for 2011-12. The two were chosen by a vote of Butler’s athletic administration from a pool of athletes nominated by Butler coaches.

Ten Butler Teams Boast Perfect APR Scores
Ten of Butler’s 19 sports recorded a perfect score of 1,000 in the latest NCAA Academic Progress Rates, released on Wednesday (June 20). The figures released by the NCAA showed all 19 of Butler’s teams maintaining eligibility for postseason play during the 2012-13 school year.

Atlantic 10 Releases Men’s Basketball Pairings
The Atlantic 10 Conference released a breakdown of men’s basketball home and away pairings for 2012-13, and Butler fans will have a chance to see several top teams in the Bulldogs’ inaugural season in the league. The top four squads in the final 2011-12 A-10 standings will be coming to Hinkle Fieldhouse during the upcoming season.

Butler Will Begin Play in the Atlantic 10 In 2012-13
Butler University will begin competition in the Atlantic 10 Conference in the fall of 2012, a year ahead of schedule, Athletic Director Barry Collier announced today. Earlier this month, Butler announced that it would leave the Horizon League after 2012-13 to join the A-10, but an accelerated timetable was made possible by both leagues.

Crossroads Classic Agreement Extended
After a highly successful debut in 2011, the directors of athletics at Butler, Indiana, Notre Dame and Purdue have agreed to a two-year extension of the Crossroads Classic that will keep one of college basketball’s premier non-conference events in Indianapolis in 2013 and 2014.

Despite a career-high 22 points from sophomore forward Khyle Marshall, the Bulldogs fell in overtime to Pittsburgh 68-62 in the semifinals of the 2012 College Basketball Invitational. The game was a re-match of last year's NCAA Tournament Third Round game, which Butler won 71-70 to advance to the "Sweet Sixteen."

Poor shooting and 21 turnovers added up to a second consecutive exhibition loss for the USA U19 team, which dropped a 108-75 decision to the Lithuania U19 National Team in Vilnius, Lithuania, on Tuesday (June 28). The contest was the final tune-up for the U.S. team prior to the start of the FIBA U19 World Championship.

One day after arriving in Panevëzys, Lithuania, the USA U19 Team faced its first international competition, and it turned into a valuable learning experience. The Lithuania U20 squad jumped to an early 5-0 lead in the exhibition contest and never trailed on the way to a 101-72 victory.

Forward Khyle Marshall is one step closer to becoming the third Butler player in three years to represent the United States at the U19 World Championship. The 6-7 sophomore-to-be was among 13 finalists chosen for this year’s national team at the USA Basketball U19 Trials in Colorado Springs, Colo.
