INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Freshman Kellen Dunham helped lead Butler to a pair of wins, including the Bulldogs' first road victory, and his performance earned him Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week honors for the second time.  The weekly award, for games played Dec. 3-8, was released by the conference office on Monday (Dec. 10).

Dunham, a 6-6 guard from Pendleton, Ind., averaged 14.0 points and 4.0 rebounds, while helping Butler to non-conference victories over IUPUI, 87-55, and Northwestern, 74-65.  The win at Northwestern was Butler's first road victory of 2012-13 and boosted the Bulldogs to 7-2 on the year.

The first-year Butler player came off the bench and shared the team scoring lead with 17 points against IUPUI.  He hit five of seven shots, including three of five from beyond the three-point arc, and all four of his free throw attempts against the Jaguars, while helping Butler to its biggest margin of victory this season.  Three days later, he scored 11 points and matched his rebounding career-high with five in Butler's victory over Northwestern.  He connected on six of six three throw attempts in the final minute to help Butler stop a comeback attempt by the Wildcats.

Dunham, who ranks second in the NCAA Division I in free throw shooting, ran his current streak of consecutive free throws made to 25 in a row by hitting all 10 of his attempts during the week.  He also hit seven of 14 (50%) shots from the field, including four of 10 (40%) from three-point range, and added three assists, a steal and his first collegiate blocked shot during the two games.

Earlier this season, Dunham was named A-10 Rookie of the Week, after scoring 18 points in Butler's season-opening victory over Elon.

Butler will take a short break for final exams, before returning to the court against top-ranked Indiana at the Close the Gap Crossroads Classic on Saturday, Dec. 15.  The game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse will start at 2 p.m. (ET) and will be televised nationally on CBS.
