Kellen Dunham Named A-10 Rookie of the Week
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Freshman Kellen Dunham, who helped lead Butler to an impressive road victory at Vanderbilt, has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the third time. The weekly award, for games played Dec. 24-30, was released by the conference office on Monday (Dec. 29).
Dunham, a 6-6 guard from Pendleton, Ind., came off the bench with 12 points, two rebounds and two assists in Butler's 68-49 win at Vanderbilt. He scored 10 of his points in the second half when the Bulldogs stretched a three-point halftime lead to a 19-point victory. He finished as the game's second-leading scorer, behind teammate Rotnei Clarke (22).
The first-year Butler player shared this week's A-10 award with freshman Quevyn Winters of Duquesne, who tallied 14 points in a loss to Penn State. Earlier this season, Dunham was named A-10 Rookie of the Week, after scoring 18 points in Butler's season-opening victory over Elon, and he picked up the award again after helping the Bulldogs to wins over IUPUI and Northwestern.
Butler will begin the new year with back-to-back home games, starting with a non-conference test against Penn at 7 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, Jan. 2. The Bulldogs will conclude the week with a game against New Orleans at Hinkle Fieldhouse at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5.
