Forward Austin Etherington Joins Bulldogs
Forward Austin Etherington, the son of former Butler basketball player Brett Etherington, has signed a financial aid agreement and will join the Bulldogs for the 2014-15 season. The 6-6 graduate student, who earned his bachelor’s degree at Indiana this spring, will be immediately eligible and will have two full seasons with the Bulldogs.

Gavitt Tipoff Games To Begin In 2015
The BIG EAST and Big Ten Conferences have announced the establishment of the Gavitt Tipoff Games, an annual early-season series of eight men’s basketball games played between the two conferences and named in honor of Dave Gavitt, founder of the BIG EAST and basketball visionary.

Butler Adds NC State Transfer Tyler Lewis
Butler men’s basketball coach Brandon Miller announced that Tyler Lewis, a former McDonald’s All-American who played at North Carolina State the past two seasons, has signed a financial aid agreement and will join the Bulldogs this fall. Lewis will sit out the 2014-15 season and have two years of eligibility remaining.

Butler To Begin Basketball Series With Tennessee
Butler men’s basketball coach Brandon Miller announced that the Bulldogs will begin a home-and-home series with Tennessee in the upcoming 2014-15 season. The two-game series will begin at Tennessee on Sunday, Dec. 14, with the Volunteers returning to Indianapolis in 2015.

Kentucky All-Star Jackson Davis Commits To Butler
Jackson Davis, one of the top prep prospects in Kentucky, has signed a national letter of intent to join the Butler men’s basketball program this fall. The 2014 Kentucky All-Star officially announced his decision to attend Butler at a press conference at Lafayette High School in Lexington, Ky., on Friday, April 25.

The Butler men’s basketball team scored their first overtime victory of the season Tuesday night with a 85-77 victory over Vanderbilt at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs are now 3-0 on the young season and do not play another home game until December 7.

Butler found itself with an early deficit for the second time in 24 hours, and the Bulldogs wound up dropping a 97-73 decision to the Cairns Taipans in an exhibition game on Sunday (August 11). The game was the final of four contests on Butler’s tour of Australia.

The Australian Boomers, featuring the nation’s best players, jumped to an early lead and then pulled away to a 96-57 victory over Butler in an exhibition game in Canberra on Saturday (Aug. 10). It was Butler’s third game in Australia and the team’s first setback.

Kellen Dunham scored a game-high 22 points and Eric Fromm added 14 to lead Butler to a 77-65 victory over Norths Bears Invitational Team in the first game of a four-game Australia tour on Tuesday (Aug. 6).
