INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler men's basketball team wrapped up their exhibition season with a 93-68 win over DePauw at Hinkle Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Kellen Dunham led the team with 23 points.
"I thought our team played much better in the second half of the game," head coach Brandon Miller said. "We executed on the offensive end of the floor from the start of the game to the end of the game."
Freshman Elijah Brown continued his impressive start to the season with 18 points, a rebound and an assist. The assist came on a behind-the-back pass to senior Erik Fromm in the open court towards the end of the first half. Fromm finished with a dunk, two of his 11 points on the afternoon. The senior starter also contributed six rebounds.
"We needed to bring more energy and toughness in the second half," Dunham said. "I think as a team we took it upon ourselves to bring that."
Junior guard Alex Barlow, fighting for the starting point guard spot, scored nine points and had three steals.
The Bulldogs shot 52 percent from the floor and 46 percent from behind the arc on the afternoon.
"Overall, there's a lot of good things that happened in both exhibition games," Miller said. "Our team continues to progress."
Butler tips off the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Hinkle Fieldhouse against Lamar. The game will be televised on Fox Sports 2.
