Butler University will join the Atlantic 10 Conference beginning with the 2013-2014 season, President James M. Danko announced today. The move will cover all Butler athletic teams except football, which will remain in the Pioneer League, and woman’s golf. Read Full Release [+]

Ronald Nored Earns Academic All-League Honors
The list of honors continues to grow for Butler senior guard Ronald Nored. The Butler co-captain, who wrapped up a stellar career in March, was one of five players named to the 2011-12 Horizon League Men’s Basketball Academic All-League Team, released by the league office on Tuesday, April 24.

For the seventh straight year and for the 14th time in 16 seasons, Butler ended its men’s basketball season in postseason tournament play. And for the third straight year and the eighth time in school history, the Bulldogs finished with a winning postseason record.

Butler senior Ronald Nored is headed to New Orleans, along with nine other top NCAA Division I men’s basketball players, for a weekend of activities at the Final Four. The ten, all finalists for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award, will be participating in several community events surrounding the men’s national championship.

Just one week after his playing career ended, Butler senior Ronald Nored moved on to the next chapter of his life. The former Bulldog point guard has been hired as head boy's basketball coach at Brownsburg High School.

Bulldogs' Season Ends With OT Loss To Pittsburgh
Despite a career-high 22 points from sophomore forward Khyle Marshall, the Bulldogs fell in overtime to Pittsburgh 68-62 in the semifinals of the 2012 College Basketball Invitational. The game was a re-match of last year's NCAA Tournament Third Round game, which Butler won 71-70 to advance to the "Sweet Sixteen."

Bulldogs Host Pitt In CBI Semifinals
One year ago, Butler faced Pittsburgh in the third round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship with a spot in the “Sweet 16” on the line. On Wednesday, March 21, the Bulldogs will play Pittsburgh at Hinkle Fieldhouse for a berth in the championship series of the 2012 College Basketball Invitational presented by Zebra Pen.

Basketball fans can see the actual floor being used for this year's NCAA Final Four this Thursday (March 25) at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Fans are encouraged to stop by Hinkle at Gate 2 and check out the historic hardwood, sign the NCAA banner and take a photo with the floor. Also, the first 300 fans will receive a FREE Final Four mini-basketball.

Butler's Hayward creates buzz at 19-and-under national team trials
Butler's Gordon Hayward, who was selected for USA Basketball's 19-and-under national team Thursday, was first featured in the sporting press four years ago. A story in a regional section of the Indianapolis Star profiled Gordon and his twin sister, Heather, who were playing mixed doubles in the Indiana State Open. They were precocious prep tennis stars. She had already played No. 1 singles as a freshman at Brownsburg High; he played No. 1 doubles then, and No. 1 singles the next year. The paper said the twins planned on going to Purdue, their parents' alma mater.
