INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Brandon Miller scored 22 points, including 17 in a strong second half effort, as Butler beat Cleveland State 73-57 on Saturday for their 13th straight victory at home.
Joel Cornette hit 1-of-2 free throws to start a 16-3 run by the Bulldogs (17-3, 7-1 Horizon League) that ended when Duane Lightfoot made a layup to give Butler a 65-49 lead over the Vikings with 3:57 remaining.
Butler took its largest lead of 18 points with 33 seconds left after Mike Monserez hit 2-of-2 free throws. Lightfoot and Monserez added 12 points each.
The Bulldogs outscored Cleveland State 43-27 in the second half, although the Vikings led by six points, 30-24, with about two minutes remaining in the first half.
Butler tied the game at 30 after the Vikings (7-14, 2-6) committed two of their game-high 15 turnovers and had a foul. Vikings leading scorer Parcell Coles had 14 of his 19 points in the first half.
The Bulldogs move into first place in the Horizon League with Saturday's win.
