INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Tyson Schnitker hit a 3-pointer as time expired to lift Indiana State to a 59-58 victory over Butler on Saturday.
Schnitker's game-winning shot came after Butler (5-4) had rallied from an eight-point deficit with three minutes to go. With the game tied 56-56, the Bulldogs' Brandon Crone gave Butler a two-point lead on a tip-in with one second remaining.
The Sycamores then called time-out to set up Schnitker's game-winning shot at the buzzer.
The teams were tied at 24 at halftime. Indiana State (6-0) shot 57 percent from the field in the second half, but Butler kept the game close by converting on 12-of-15 free throws.
Schnitker finished with a game-high 20 points. Gabriel Moore added 13 points for the Sycamores and Trent Wurtz had eight points and eight rebounds.
Avery Sheets led the Bulldogs with 17 points. A.J. Graves scored 14 points and had four assists. Crone finished with 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds.
