Butler Homecoming To Be Carried On MyINDY-TV
Central Indiana fans of Butler’s record-setting football team will have a chance to see the Bulldogs’ Homecoming game on television this fall. MyINDY-TV, channel 23, will bring Butler Football to television viewers with a live broadcast of the Bulldogs’ game against Morehead State on October 23 at 1:00 p.m.

Butler Places Eight On Academic All-PFL Team
Butler’s championship football squad, led by senior Spencer Summerville and junior Grant Hunter, had eight players named to the 17th Annual Academic All-Pioneer Fooftball League Team, announced by the league office. The Bulldogs had six players named first team and two picked to the second team.

Tim Cooper Named Assistant Football Coach At Butler
Former Miami (Ohio) and Carroll College football assistant Tim Cooper has been named an assistant football coach at Butler University. The new Butler coach will serve as a co-Defensive Coordinator for the Pioneer Football League champion Bulldogs.

Butler Selects Five For Athletic Hall of Fame
Five former students, including a men’s soccer All-American and a two-time conference Player of the Year, have been selected for induction into the Butler University Athletic Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame Induction Class of 2010 will be honored at a special banquet/ceremony at the Riley Room in Atherton Center on the Butler campus on June 6.

Quarterback Andrew Huck scored three touchdowns to lead host Butler to a 28-23 victory over Central Connecticut State in the fourth Girdiron Classic played at the Butler Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 5. It was the first post-season victory for the Bulldogs and capped a school-record 11-1 campaign.

Jeff Voris Named PFL Coach Of The Year
Head coach Jeff Voris was selected as the Pioneer Football League Coach of the Year and Butler had 14 players earn All-League recognition on the 17th All-PFL Team, released by the league office on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 24). All selections were made by a vote of league coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.

Grant Hunter Named Football Academic All-America
Butler defensive end Grant Hunter, an outstanding student and one of the top defensive linemen in the Pioneer Football League has been named second team on the 2009 ESPN The Magazine University Division Academic All-America Football Team, chosen by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). He was among 49 players selected first or second team on the national honor squad.

Butler defensive end Grant Hunter has been named to the second team of the 2009 Football Championship Subdivision Preseason All-America Team by Phil Steele’s ACC & Big East Football 2009 Preview magazine.
