Seven Selected For Butler Athletics Hall of Fame
Six former student-athletes and one athletic administrator have been selected for induction into the Butler University Athletic Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame Class of 2012 will be formally inducted at a dinner/ceremony on the Butler campus during the weekend of Sept. 28-29.

Butler’s Grant Hunter Signs With Cincinnati Bengals
Senior Grant Hunter, who led Butler in quarterback sacks for four straight seasons, has signed a free agent contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Butler defensive standout will report to the Bengals on May 10 to begin rookie camp on May 11.

Blue Tops White In Spring Game
In a game that featured more than 100 points, it was Butler’s defensive unit that prevailed. The Blue team (defense) topped the White team (offense), 56-52, in Butler’s annual spring football game at the Butler Bowl on Saturday, April 21.

Butler will wrap up four weeks of spring football drills with the annual Blue-White Spring Game on Saturday, April 21. The concluding event for the spring season, the game will kickoff at 10 a.m., at the Butler Bowl.

Butler Begins Spring Football Practice March 23
Butler will kickoff its 2012 football bid this week with the first of 15 spring practices on Friday, March 24. The Bulldogs will have at least two practices each week for five straight weeks, concluding with the annual Blue-White Spring Game on April 21.

Kyle Conner Returns To Butler Football Staff
Former Butler player and coach Kyle Conner has returned to the Bulldogs’ football staff. Conner, who was an assistant coach at Valparaiso last year, has been named offensive line coach at Butler. He replaces former assistant coach Nick Tabacca, who was named offensive line coach at Ball State.

Record Number of Bulldogs Named To PFL Academic Honor Roll
The Pioneer Football league announced its Academic Honor Roll for the Fall 2011 semester. Butler reported a school-record 68 honorees, second most in the league.

Season Awards Presented At Football Banquet
Senior Zach Watkins, junior Jordan Ridley and sophomore Kevin Cook earned Butler football Most Valuable Player awards for the 2011 season. The three MVP’s were among a host of players honored at the team’s annual season-ending awards banquet on Sunday, Jan. 22.

Eight Bulldogs Earn Academic All-PFL Honors
Eight Butler football players have been named to the 19th annual Academic All-Pioneer Football League Team, announced by the PFL office on Friday, Dec. 2. The Bulldogs had three players earn first team Academic All-PFL recognition and five players named to the second team.

Butler Places 14 On All-PFL Squad
Junior linebacker Jordan Ridley, named first team all-league for the second consecutive year, was one of 14 Butler players selected to the 2011 All-Pioneer Football League Team, released by the league office on Tuesday (Nov. 22). The 19th All-PFL team was chosen by a vote of league coaches.

Bulldogs Fall At Morehead State
Senior Andrew Huck, making a surprise appearance, passed for 294 yards and three touchdowns on a record-setting afternoon, but it wasn’t enough to offset a high-powered Morehead State offense. The host Eagles rolled to a 55-35 Pioneer Football League victory at Jayne Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 19, in the final 2011 game for both teams.

Fourth Quarter Sinks Bulldogs
Quarterback Josh McGregor passed for 422 yards and three touchdowns, including two in the final period, to lift host Jacksonville to a 34-24, come-from-behind victory over Butler in a Pioneer Football League game on Saturday, Nov. 12. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 5-5 on the season and 3-4 in league play.

Butler turned a strong performance by new quarterback Wade Markley and several key defensive plays into a 17-7 Pioneer Football League victory over Davidson at the Butler Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 5. The victory on Butler's "Senior Day" lifted the Bulldogs to 5-4 on the season and 3-3 in PFL play.

Quarterback Andrew Huck passed for four touchdowns and corner back Sean Grady had a school-record 90-yard interception return for a score to help lead Butler to a 42-14 victory over Valparaiso in a Pioneer Football League rivalry game at the Butler Bowl on Saturday (Oct. 15). The win gave Butler the “Hoosier Helmet” trophy for the fourth consecutive year.

Jordan Ridley Named PFL Defensive Player of the Week
Butler linebacker Jordan Ridley, who recorded a career-high 19 tackles at Campbell, has been named Pioneer Football League Co-Defensive Player of the Week. The Butler junior shared the league honor with defensive end Blake Oliaro of San Diego, who had four quarterback sacks and a pass interception at Valparaiso.

It was the first meeting between the two teams in 37 years.
