Record Number of Bulldogs Named To PFL Academic Honor Roll
The Pioneer Football League announced its biannual Academic Honor Roll yesterday, honoring a record 482 student-athletes from the 10 member instituions for their outstanding work in the classroom. Those recognized participated in football during the Fall 2011 semester and maintained a 3.0 grade-point average or higher.
This year's class of nearly 500 student athletes marked the third consecutive year the PFL has recognized a record number of students and fifth consecutive year the PFL has seen a rise in the number of students honored.
Butler reported a school-record 68 honorees, second most behind Dayton's 72, also a school record. Davidson (64), Drake (61) and Campbell (56) also had a school-record number of athletes recognized.
