Big Plays Spoil Butler’s Homecoming
Quarterback Kade Bell passed for 401 yards and five touchdowns to lead visiting Jacksonville to a 35-7 victory over Butler in the Bulldogs’ annual Homecoming game on Saturday, Sept. 27. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 2-2 on the young season and 0-1 in the Pioneer Football League.

Butler To Host League-Leading Jacksonville
Two-time defending champion Butler won’t be easing into its 2014 Pioneer Football League schedule. The Bulldogs will begin PFL play on Saturday, Sept. 27, against powerful Jacksonville, one of the preseason favorites in this year’s conference race.

Butler’s Matt Shiltz Earns League Honor
Quarterback Matt Shiltz only played three quarters in Butler’s home football win over Taylor, but that was enough time to earn him Pioneer Football League Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors. The conference office chose Shiltz and wide receiver Reggie Bell of San Diego to share the weekly award.

Butler Wins Weather-Shortened Game
The game only lasted three quarters but consumed nearly four hours, before Butler claimed a 38-3 victory over visiting Taylor at the Butler Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 20, night. The victory lifted the Bulldogs to 2-1 on the young season.

Butler-Dayton Football Gametime Changed
The kickoff for Butler’s final regular season football game against Dayton on Nov. 15, has been moved up one hour. The Pioneer Football League contest at the Butler Bowl will start at 11 a.m.

Bulldogs Open Home Schedule Against Taylor
After spending the first two weeks of the season in Ohio, Butler will play its first home football game of 2014 when it hosts Taylor on Saturday, Sept. 20. The non-conference game at the Butler Bowl is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. (ET) kickoff.

No. 16 Youngstown State used a big second quarter offensive performance and a strong second half defense to defeat visiting Butler, 44-13, on Saturday, Sept. 13. The road loss dropped the Bulldogs to 1-1 on the young season.

Butler Returns To Ohio To Face No. 16 Youngstown State
Butler will make its second consecutive visit to the Buckeye State when it travels to Youngstown, Ohio, to face #16 Youngstown State on Saturday, Sept. 13. The non-conference game at Stambaugh Stadium is scheduled for a 4 p.m. (ET) kickoff.
