Tim Cooper Named Assistant Football Coach At Butler

Former Miami (Ohio) and Carroll College football assistant Tim Cooper has been named an assistant football coach at Butler University. The new Butler coach will serve as a co-Defensive Coordinator for the Pioneer Football League champion Bulldogs. Read Full Release [+]

Butler Selects Five For Athletic Hall of Fame
Five former students, including a men’s soccer All-American and a two-time conference Player of the Year, have been selected for induction into the Butler University Athletic Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame Induction Class of 2010 will be honored at a special banquet/ceremony at the Riley Room in Atherton Center on the Butler campus on June 6.

Eleven Take Home Honors at End of Season Banquet
Andrew Huck, Nick Caldicott and Michael Wilson took home the team’s Most Valuable Player honors for the 2009 campaign. They were among 11 players who received awards at the team’s annual awards banquet Jan. 17.

Butler Wins Gridiron Classic
Quarterback Andrew Huck scored three touchdowns to lead host Butler to a 28-23 victory over Central Connecticut State in the fourth Girdiron Classic played at the Butler Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 5. It was the first post-season victory for the Bulldogs and capped a school-record 11-1 campaign.

Butler football coach Jeff Voris has been honored for his team’s performance this year, and now he has been rewarded. The fourth-year head coach has received a contract extension through the 2013-14 school year.

Bulldogs Host Central Connecticut In Gridiron Classic
Butler, co-champion of the Pioneer Football League, will play its first postseason football game in nearly two decades when it hosts Northeast Conference champ Central Connecticut State in the fourth annual Gridiron Classic on Saturday, Dec. 5. The game is scheduled for 12 noon at the Butler Bowl.

Jeff Voris Named PFL Coach Of The Year
Head coach Jeff Voris was selected as the Pioneer Football League Coach of the Year and Butler had 14 players earn All-League recognition on the 17th All-PFL Team, released by the league office on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 24). All selections were made by a vote of league coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.

Grant Hunter Named Football Academic All-America
Butler defensive end Grant Hunter, an outstanding student and one of the top defensive linemen in the Pioneer Football League has been named second team on the 2009 ESPN The Magazine University Division Academic All-America Football Team, chosen by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). He was among 49 players selected first or second team on the national honor squad.
