Tailback Garrion Corbin rushed for 200 yards and one touchdown to lead host Tiffin to a 30-7 victory over Butler in a non-league football game played at Frost-Kalnow Stadium in Tiffin, Ohio, on Saturday, Sept. 10. With the win Tiffin improved to 1-2 on the season, while the Bulldogs fell to 0-2.
Corbin led the Dragons to 405 rushing yards in the game. He had 22 carries and averaged 9.1 yards per attempt! Quarterback Donnie Johnson added 93 yards and one touchdown, while running back Austin Clopton chipped in with 67 yards. The Dragons out-gained Butler in total offense, 494-87.
Tiffin took a 10-0 lead at halftime on a 42-yard field goal by Ben Sandrock and an 18-yard fumble-recovery return by Taiwan Russell. The Dragons then pulled away in the third quarter on Corbin's nine-yard touchdown run and Johnson's 10-yard scoring run.
The Dragons made it 30-0 late in the fourth quarter on a five-yard touchdown run by Dan Barnes.
Butler avoided the shutout in the closing minutes when Tiffin's Lamar Tipton fumbled into his own end zone and Butler linebacker Brian McClure fell on the ball with 1:38 left on the clock.
The Bulldogs will continue on the road with a game at Robert Morris on Saturday, Sept. 17.
