Butler Places Seventh At Butler Spring Invitational
AVON, IND. -- Butler had all five players score between 74 and
79, but the Bulldogs still finished seventh at the rain-shortened
Butler Spring Invitational, which concluded at Prestwick Country
Club on Tuesday (March 23). Loyola and Dayton tied for the
team title in the nine-team meet.
Freshman Andrew Wegeng paced the Bulldogs with a 74 in the
tournament, which was reduced to 18 holes because of heavy
rains. He finished four strokes behind medalist Dylan Gergen
of Loyola and wound up in a tie for 13th place in the final
individual standings.
Sophomore Jordan Mack wound up 28th in the tournament with a 78,
while junior Ryan Wegeng and sophomores Alex Walker and Ben Nichele
all tied for 29th place with rounds of 79. Freshman Colin
Reenan, playing as a non-scoring individual, tied for 37th with an
81.
Loyola and Dayton both posted a round of 292 to finish five strokes
ahead of Evansville in third place. Butler compiled a team
total of 310.
