AVON, Ind. - Sophomore Alex Walker posted a second round tally of 75 to highlight the Butler men's golf team's performance at the Butler Spring Invitational at Prestwick Country Club in Avon. The Bulldogs finished 10th of 13 teams.
Walker stayed consistent in the tourney's two rounds, shooting the 75 round after tallying 76 the previous day. He tied with three other players for 22nd overall. Sophomore Andrew Wegeng (74-79-153). Senior Ryan Wegeng fired a 158 (78-80) to finish five-way tie for 44th.
Butler edged out conference foes Valparaiso and Youngstown State for 10th in the team standings. As a team, BU shot 315 in the second round, six back of the squad's first round tally. Purdue won the team scoring by 20 strokes over IUPUI and Loyola. Dayton and SIU-Edwardsville tied for fourth.
BU men's golf will return to action Thursday, April 7 at the Big Four event in Indianapolis.
