Butler Defeats Evansville At Sultan’s Run
JASPER, IND. -- Butler bunched seven golfers in the "Top 10" and slipped past Evansville, 308-314, in a dual match in Jasper on Monday (April 15). The two teams played a single, 18-hole match at Sultan's Run Golf Club.
The Aces notched the top two individual finishes, with Alex Turner shooting a one-over-par 73 to take medalist honors and Quinn Vilneff finishing runner-up with a 74.
But the next five spots were all Butler. Seniors Andrew Wegeng and Colin Reenan tied for third with rounds of 76, while freshman Corbin Sellers, playing as a non-scoring individual, came in fifth with a 77. Sophomores Logan Holt and Andrew Eiler rounded out Butler's "Top 5" in a tie for sixth place with rounds of 78.
Freshman Brigham Stewart tied for eighth place with an 80 and senior Matt Vitale, playing as a non-scoring individual, came in tenth.
The two-team match was Butler's final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship, April 26-28.
