Bulldogs Finish Eighth At UC Collegiate

Junior Abe Mulvihill posted a "Top Five" individual finish and Butler finished eighth in the final team standings at the UC Men's Collegiate Invitational, which wrapped up at Hueston Woods Golf Course on Tuesday (April 3). Northern Kentucky captured the team title in the 12-team tournament hosted by Cincinnati.

Mulvihill shot a one-under-par 71 in the opening round on Monday (April 2), before closing with a two-over-par 74 in the final round. He finished in a tie for fourth place with Alex Wenzel of Cincinnati, eight strokes behind medalist Farren Keenan of Texas and four strokes in back of runner-up Mark Sommerfeld of Detroit.

Freshman Isaac Mulvihill wound up tied for 41st place with a 36-hole total of 154 (80-74), while freshman Kyle Thomas was one stroke back in a tie for 43rd place (80-75 155). Sophomore Frank Rizzi tied for 45th place at 156 (84-72) and senior Justin Kime tied for 52nd place with a 161 (81-80).

Butler finished with a team total of 607 for the 36-hole tournament, trailing Loyola and Niagara in sixth place by two strokes. Northern Kentucky posted a winning score of 589, one better than runner-up Texas.
