Michael Poteracki Ties For Medalist Honors At Big Four Classic

Butler freshman Michael Poteracki shot a 78 to tie for individual medalist honors at the Big Four Classic held at Crooked Stick Golf Course in Carmel, Ind., on Tuesday, April 12. The Bulldogs finished a tie for first with DePauw in the final team standings but had to settle for second place, based on the fifth player's score.

Poteracki was one of two Butler players to break 80 in the cool and wet conditions at Crooked Stick. Freshman Abe Mulvihill carded a 79 in the 18-hole event. Junior Will Turner came in third for the Bulldogs with an 80, while sophomore Chris Spitler completed Butler's scoring team with an 82. Sophomore Justin Kime was Butler's fifth player, and he carded an 85.

Butler and DePauw both finished with a team score of 319, but the Tigers' fifth player shot an 82 to win the tie-breaker. Wabash came in third with a 323, while Hanover finished fourth at 343.
