Bulldogs Place 11th At Wolf Run Invitational

Freshman Kyle Thomas tied for 24th in the final individual standings and Butler wound up 11th in the team competition at the 36-hole Wolf Run Invitational hosted by IUPUI on Sunday and Monday (April 15-16). Akron won the 14-team tournament held at Wolf Run Golf Course in Zionsville.
Thomas shot an opening round 85, but then closed with a 79, the best single round by a Butler player. He finished one stroke ahead of teammate Michael Amore, who shot rounds of 83 and 82 for a 36-hole total of 165 and a tie for 30th place. Junior Abe Mulvihill finished one stroke back in a tie for 34th place with rounds of 81 and 85.
Sophomore Frank Rizzi (83-92 175) tied with teammates Isaac Mulvihill (88-87 175) and Kevin Swanson (87-88 175) for 62nd place. Issac Mulvihill and Swanson were playing as non-scoring individuals. Senior Chris Spitler rounded out Butler's scoring team with rounds of 88 and 93, good for 76th place.
Also playing as non-scoring individuals were senior Justin Kime and freshman Thomas Pechin. Kime tied for 45th place with rounds of 83 and 86, while Pechin tied for 51st place with rounds of 84 and 86.
