Bulldogs Place Sixth At Rambler Invitational

Sophomore Michael Poteracki tied for ninth place in the final individual standings and helped Butler to a sixth place team finish at the 54-hole Rambler Invitational, hosted by Loyola University on Monday and Tuesday, April 17-18. Defending national junior college champ Indian Hill Community College won the nine-team event.
Poteracki carded a 14-over-par 230 to finish in a tie with Brad Smith of Indian Hills, Mikhial Pasic of Detroit and Adam Austreng of Wisconsin-Green Bay. The second-year Butler golfer opened with a 78 and then came back in the second round with a 75. He finished with a 77 on Tuesday in the windy conditions at Pine Meadow Golf Club. Poteracki posted seven birdies in the tournament and he tied with teammate Will Turner with 31 total pars.
Freshman Kevin Sasena and sophomore Michael Amore tied for 24th in the field with 54-hole totals of 238. Sasena carded rounds of 82, 77 and 79, while Amore shot rounds of 80, 75 and 83.
Turner wound up tied for 30th at 239 (77-81-81) and junior Chris Spitler finished in a tie for 40th at 253 (88-81-84).
Indian Hills posted a team score of 915 and finished eight strokes ahead of runner-up Detroit. Youngstown State (924) was third, followed by Loyola (931), Oakland (935), Butler (945), UW-Green Bay (953), Chicago State (982) and Loyola-Gold (999).
