April 24, 2002
Junior Michael Heston shot a team-best 190 to place seventh individually and Butler wound up fifth in the final team standings at the Cleveland State Men's Intercollegiate golf meet held at Legend Lake Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday, April 22-23. The tournament, originally scheduled for 54 holes, was shortened to 45 holes because of adverse weather conditions.
Heston carded a 78 in the opening round and then came back with a 37, when the second round was shortened to nine holes because of frigid conditions. The Butler junior shot a 75 in the final round to claim a "Top 10" individual finish, just four strokes behind co-champs Christian Komsa and Billy Houle of Cleveland State.
