Thomas and Amore lead Bulldogs at Cleveland State

Butler's Men's Golf team, paced a by seventh place finish from freshman Kyle Thomas and a 12th place finish from junior Michael Amore, finished ninth overall at the Cleveland State Invitational. The third round of the event, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 12, was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Thomas scored a 78 and a 72 in his two rounds of play for a total of 150, while Amore finished one stroke behind with scores of 77 and 74.
Freshman Isaac Mulvihill shot a 163 in two rounds to finish 39th while senior Chris Spitler scored a 172 to tie for 49th. Sophomore Kevin Sasena rounded out Butler's scoring with a 177 to finish 54th.
The Bulldogs' final team score was 635. Eastern Michigan won the 11-team meet with a total score of 595, one stroke ahead of Eastern Kentucky. Chris Ross of Eastern Michigan was the medalist with a total score of 146.
The Bulldogs' next action will be as host of the Butler Invitational on Sept. 25-26.
