Bulldogs Finish 16th At Ball State Invitational

Kyle Thomas shot a 12-over-par 222 to pace Butler at the 54-hole 2006 Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, hosted by Ball State University on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 9-10. Butler placed 16th in the meet, won by Eastern Kentucky.

Thomas shot an opening-round 73 and then came back with rounds of 75 and 74 for his 54-hole total. He finished in a tie for 52nd place in the 17-team tournament.

Brothers Abe and Issac Mulvihill tied for 77th place with scores of 230. Abe Mulvihill shot rounds of 81, 77 and two-over-par 72, while Issac Mulvihill carded rounds of 79, 74 and 77.

Sophomore Frank Rizzi tied for 80th place with rounds of 82, 72 and 79 (233), and sophomore Graham Summers came in 91st with scores of 88, 86 and 78 (252).

Shaun McConell of Eastern Kentucky defeated Jeff Lanier of Belmont in a one-hole playoff to capture medalist honors in the tournament. Both players shot a three-under-par 207 for the meet.
