Butler Stands Sixth At Greg Palmer Eagle Classic

Sophomore Chris Spitler carded a 36-hole total of 151 to help Butler to a sixth place team standing after the first day of the Greg Palmer Eagle Classic at Eagle Trace Golf Club in Morehead, Ky., on Monday, Oct. 11. Host Morehead State and Samford share the first day lead in the 13-team tournament.

Spitler opened with a one-over-par 73 and then came back with a 78 to tie for 24th place in the individual standings. Sophomore Justin Kime and freshman Colin Quinn are close behind in a tie for 31st place. Kime posted rounds of 75 and 78, while Quinn had rounds of 76 and 77.

Junior Will Turner is tied for 40th place with a 36-hole total of 154 (74-80), while freshman Abe Mulvihill is tied for 49th place at 156 (83-73).

The 54-hole tournament will wrap up on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
