Bucknell's Defense Stops Butler Lacrosse Team

PITTSBURGH - No. 23 Bucknell's defense played the starring role in the Bison's 10-2 win over the Butler lacrosse team on Saturday (Mar. 8) at Mount Lebanon High School. The Bulldogs drop to 2-2 on the season, while Bucknell improves to 2-1.

The Bison jumped out to a quick 4-0 first quarter lead and never looked back. The Bulldogs attempted only 27 shots on the game due to Bucknell's suffocating defense. Senior Dan Torgersen led Butler with six shots and one goal, while freshman Alan Eberstein recorded the Bulldogs' other goal.

Senior Brendan Winkler finished with 11 saves for the Bulldogs, while his counterpart Justin Sussman stopped 10 shots for Bucknell.

Butler will face Quinnipiac on Wednesday (Mar. 12) at Yale. Faceoff is slated for 11 a.m.
