Princeton Controls Game and Beats Butler, 19-1

Host Princeton controlled the ball Sunday, winning 18 of 24 face-offs and allowing the Bulldogs just 12 shots in a 19-1 win over Butler at the Class of 1952 Stadium in Princeton, N.J. Sophomore Pat Hurto had Butler's score in the non-conference game. With the win, Princeton improves to 3-6, while Butler falls to 4-5.
Princeton fired 64 shots in the contest and had a 42-16 advantage in ground balls. Jason Doneger led the Tigers with four goals. Princeton held a 7-0 lead at the half and scored the first 13 goals of the game before Hurto found the net unassisted with 3:32 remaining in the third period.
Four goalies combined for the Princeton effort. Butler's Sam Ashley got the start in goal and took the loss. Sophomore Ryan Kaiser manned the net for the final 23 minutes of the game.
The Bulldogs return to Great Western Lacrosse League action next weekend with a trip to Colorado to face Air Force Friday and Denver Sunday.
