Jason Perry Joins Butler Men’s Soccer Staff
Former professional player Jason Perry, who spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Oakland University, has joined the men’s soccer staff at Butler University. He will be active in facets of team operations, including recruiting, training, game management, scouting, travel and summer camps.

Bulldogs Win Soccer Exhibition
It took an additional day because of a lightening strike, but the delay didn’t affect Butler’s offensive power and the Bulldogs prevailed over visiting St. Louis, 4-2, in a spring soccer match at the Butler Bowl on Sunday, April 15. It was the first of three matches for the Bulldogs this week.

Men's Soccer Exhibition Postponed
Butler's men's soccer exhibition against Saint Louis has been postponed. The match, a 90-minute scrimmage, will be played Sunday, April 15 at 11 a.m. Admission is free.

Butler, Indiana Battle To Scoreless Tie
Defense prevailed on both sides and Butler had to settle for a 0-0 tie against host Indiana in a spring men’s soccer match at Armstong Stadium on Friday night (April 6). The contest was part of Butler’s five-match spring schedule.

Butler To Host College Prep Camp
Butler men's soccer is hosting a College Prep Camp at the Butler Bowl on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 11-12. The camp is a valuable opportunity for prospects to compete in a quality environment against elite players from all over the country, and to be coached by highly-rated college coaches.

Butler midfielder Zach Steinberger is one of 33 players who have been named to the College Soccer News 2011 All-Freshman Team. The first-year Butler player was chosen third team on the honor squad.

Brandon Fricke Earns Academic All-District Recognition
Butler’s Brandon Fricke, who completed his first season as a starting defender for the Bulldogs, has been named to the 11-player Capital One Academic All-District V University Division Men’s Soccer Team, chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). With his selection, he is now eligible for the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Team.

Butler scoring leaders Austin Oldham and Zach Steinberger have been named to the 2011 All-Horizon League Men’s Soccer Team, selected by league coaches. Oldham was chosen first team All-League, while Steinberger was named to the second team.

Wright State Ends Butler’s Season
Sophomore Will McAteer scored off a header just under 24 minutes into the match and that tally proved to be enough to carry visiting Wright State to a 1-0 victory over Butler in a crucial match at the Butler Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 5. The loss ended Butler’s bid for a berth in the 2011 Horizon League Men’s Soccer Championship.

Sophomore Austin Oldham sparked a strong offensive start and Butler turned in a determined team defensive effort to close a 3-1 decision over Horizon League foe Detroit at Titan Field on Saturday, Oct. 29. The road victory lifted the Bulldogs to 7-7-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the Horizon League.

Bellarmine Goalkeeper Transfers To Butler
Matt Soyka, the starting goalkeeper at Bellarmine University last fall, has transferred to Butler. The 6-1, 170-pound junior will have to sit out this season, but will be eligible for the 2012 campaign.
