INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Butler's duo of junior Zach Steinberger and freshman David Goldsmith were among 11 players named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2013 BIG EAST Men's Soccer Championship.  The all-tournament team was released at the conclusion of the championship, won by Marquette on Sunday (Nov. 17) at PPL Park in Chester, Pa.

Steinberger and Goldsmith helped Butler reach the semifinals of the conference tournament.  The Bulldogs fell in the second semifinal match to eventual champ Marquette, 1-0 in overtime.  In the first round of the championship, Goldsmith scored the lone goal of the match to lift Butler past #3 seed Xavier, 1-0.

The two Butler all-tournament picks were named to the BIG EAST All-Conference Team prior to the semifinals of the league championship.  Steinberger was named first team All-BIG EAST, while Goldsmith was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and was named to both the All-BIG EAST second team and the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team.

Also named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team were Adam Lysak, Louis Bennett II, Charlie Lyon and Axel Sjoberg of Marquette, Manny Andrade, Wilder Arboleda and Phil Tower of Providence, and Joey Dillon and Steve Neumann of Georgetown.  Lysak, who scored the game-winner against Butler in the semifinals, was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Offensive Player, while Sjoberg was selected as the championship's Most Outstanding Defensive Player.
