Goldsmith, Steinberger Named to All-Region Team

Freshman David Goldsmith and junior Zach Steinberger were both named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire All-Region team from the Great Lakes region. Goldsmith was named to the second team and Steinberger to the third team.

This honor is yet another in a season full of them for Goldsmith. He was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and also to both the All-BIG EAST second team and the BIG EAST All-Rookie team. The Bristol, England native led the Bulldogs with 12 goals scored and 26 total points. Furthermore, Goldsmith was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week three times.

Steinberger was named first team All-BIG EAST and to the 2013 BIG EAST All-Tournament team. His six goals on the season were second best on the team, as were his 16 total points. Steinberger was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week once this season and was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll once as well. He started 19 games for the Bulldogs. 

Butler, picked to finish eighth in the conference before the season, finished with a record of 11-8-1 and 4-5 in BIG EAST play. They advanced to the semifinal round of the BIG EAST Tournament before losing to eventual champion Marquette in overtime.
