Men’s Soccer Welcomes New Volunteer Coach
Former Butler men’s soccer goalkeeper Fabian Knopfler joins the men’s coaching staff as the new volunteer assistant coach at Butler University. He will be working primarily with the goalkeepers as well as assisting with team operations.

Brandon Fricke Drafted By The Colorado Rapids
Butler senior Brandon Fricke knew there was a chance, but still was pleasantly surprised when the Colorado Rapids called his name in the fourth round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. The Bulldogs’ captain and standout defender was selected with the 83rd overall pick as the draft was completed on Tuesday (Jan. 20).

Butler’s Zach Steinberger Drafted By The Houston Dynamo
Butler midfielder Zach Steinberger got the call he was waiting for and it didn’t take long. The senior from San Diego, Calif., was selected with the No. 8 pick by the Houston Dynamo in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft on Thursday (Jan. 15).

Butler midfielder Zach Steinberger is one of nine college seniors who have been added to the 2015 adidas MLS Player Combine participant list. The nine will join previously selected top collegiate athletes from across the country at the showcase in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Jan. 8-13.

David Goldsmith Named All-Great Lakes Region
Butler sophomore David Goldsmith, who led the Bulldogs in scoring in 2014, has been named to the second team of the 2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Men’s All-Great Lakes Region Team. It’s the second straight year that the Butler forward has earned the honor.

Brandon Fricke Repeats As An Academic All-America
Senior Brandon Fricke has been honored as an Academic All-American for the second consecutive year. The Butler standout was one of 11 players chosen to the first team of the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America V Division I Men’s Soccer Team, chosen by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
