Butler men’s soccer coach Kelly Findley wrapped up his 2010-11 recruiting class with the signing of six talented prospects. The class of Butler newcomers includes three players with national championship credentials and two players with high school state championship rings.

Julian Cardona Named To Puerto Rico U21 National Team
Butler forward Julian Cardona has been selected to the Puerto Rico U21 National Team Pool. The first-year Butler player will compete with Puerto Rico in the Central American and Caribbean Games this July in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

Butler’s team success in 2009 resulted in individual accolades for team members Kyle VondenBenken, Boris Gatzky and Matt Hedges. The trio of Butler players were named to the 2009 All Great Lakes Region Team, selected by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Butler Extends Contract Of Men’s Soccer Coach Kelly Findley
Butler men’s soccer coach Kelly Findley, who guided the 2009 Bulldogs to one of the most successful seasons in school history, has been rewarded with a three-year contract extension. The fourth-year coach will continue to lead Butler through the 2012-13 school year.

Butler forward Julian Cardona has been named to the 2009 All-Freshman Team, chosen by College Soccer News. The first-year Butler player was picked to the third team of the honor squad recognizing the nation’s top freshman performers.

One year after matching the fourth-highest win total in school history, the Butler men’s soccer team improved its performance. The 2009 Bulldogs became just the fourth team in Butler men’s soccer history to record 14 victories in a season.

Conner Burt Named Horizon League Scholar-Athlete Of The Month
Butler junior Conner Burt, who helped lead the Bulldogs to an NCAA Tournament bid this fall, has been named the U. S. Army Horizon League Male Scholar-Athlete of the Month for November. He’s the third consecutive Butler athlete to earn the monthly academic award.
