Juniors Scott Olsen and Casey Jewett provided the offense and senior Evan Reinhardt keyed the defense to help lead Butler to a 2-0 victory over Valparaiso in a non-league men's soccer match at Eastgate Field in Valparaiso on Friday, Sept. 17. The victory lifted Butler to 3-3 on the season, while Valparaiso fell to 1-2-2.

Junior John Mariscalco started the Butler scoring play with a cross to Edgington. The goal was Olsen's second of the season.
Butler increased the lead to 2-0 in the second half when Jewett launched a free kick that deflected off a Valparaiso defender and into the net. The goal at 61:13 was Jewett's first as a Butler player.
The Bulldogs faced 10 shots from Valparaiso, but just two shots on goal. Reinhardt stopped both scoring attempts by the Crusaders.
